Rafter Tails

Rafter Tails are fabricated from a variety of wood species. Thicknesses and lengths vary according to customer preference. End profiles can be chosen from one of our established designs below or patterned after the customer’s plans. These make outstanding exterior accents below the eaves of any structure, and can be sized to match interior trusses or rafters to create the appearance of a member projecting through the wall. End profiles can vary from simple bevels or radii, to elaborate scroll cuts. Rafter Tails are most often sized with an extra 2-4 feet of length for attachment inside a wall or attic to other building structure. Note that Heavy Timber Trusses can also be provided with integral Rafter Tails to extend through walls and support overhangs.
